Dundee Derby undecided

De Twaalfde Man - Dundee Derby
Written by De Twaalfde Man

The friendly rivalry of Dundee. Neighbors Dundee United and Dundee FC clashed for the third time this season. The Terrors destroyed The Dee earlier this season. They are heading for the league title in the Scottish Championship as they have a 14 point lead over number 2 Inverness. Are The Dark Blues able to defeat The Tangerines this time? This is the Dundee Derby.

Dundee FC has still everything to play for. They are in fourth place before the derby clash which means qualifying for the promotion playoff matches. They relegated from the Premiership last season. United relegated in 2016 and missed promotion the last couple of years.

Dundee Derby

A great derby this time. Despite the poor quality of football both teams were fighting for every inch of the pitch. After 5 mins the first goal for United, a beauty. But this time Dundee kept on fighting making it difficult for The Tangerines to play quality attacking football. The Blues slowly took over control which resulted in the equalizer shortly after halftime: unreal scenes in the away section. Several supporters invaded the pitch to celebrate with the players.

I was hoping to see much more of that, but unfortunately both teams weren’t able scoring more goals. Despite the friendly rivalry the Dundee Derby had an amazing atmosphere. Proper derby to visit.
